Changes to Organic Post Targeting on Facebook.

In accordance with Facebook's updated policy on data protection.

Facebook Platform Policies are being updated as part of the changes to how third-party apps, such as Falcon, can transfer data outside of Facebook. You may read more about it here

One such change is affecting organic targeting (post-level-restrictions). As of August 1, 2018, organic targeting based on certain parameters will be deprecated for posts created through Falcon.

  • News feed targeting users by Gender
  • News feed targeting users by Language
  • News feed targeting users by specifying the maximum age
  • News feed targeting users by Region (Regions are still available, but some have been removed)
  • In Falcon Settings, geo-fencing specific users by Languages

In addition, the news feed targeting users by specifying the minimum age will be limited to: 13, 17, 18 or 21.

  • You will be able to copy a draft or a post created before the deprecation date but they will be copied without the deprecated targeting parameters.
  • Scheduled posts that contain the above targeting parameters created before 1st August will be published, but will not have those targeting parameters applied.
