FAQ: Tumblr Publishing.

Publish quotes, audio or video to Tumblr through Falcon.

The Tumblr platform offers a number of specific posting options natively – from quotes, to audio and video. This article will guide you through the necessary steps in Falcon to achieve the same results.

When you initially create a post in Falcon, you are offered to post text or a picture. Below we show how you can create other types of content, including Quotes, Sound, Video and Links.

STEP-BY-STEP: POSTING QUOTES

  1. Create a new Tumblr post.
  2. Choose Text as Content Type.
  3. Make sure that you write the quote in the Subject line to achieve a similar visual style as when posting a quote natively in Tumblr.

STEP-BY-STEP: POSTING LINKS

  1. Create a new Tumblr post.
  2. Type text in message field, select all text and press the link button to attach a URL.
  3. Publish your post.

Once published, it will show as this:

TumblrLinks

In comparison to native Tumblr, the system will not derive the description from the linked site, but you can freely write text in the post to make it more complete.

STEP-BY-STEP: POSTING AUDIO

  1. Create a new post and choose Text as the content type.
  2. Choose the pencil icon to open the HTML editor.
  3. If your source is for example Spotify, right-click on the song you want to share and choose Copy Embed Code.
  4. Go back to Falcon, click on the pencil icon again to edit the HTML.
  5. Type <html> and the closing tag </html> will automatically appear.
  6. In between those lines paste the widget code you just copied.
  7. Click the pencil icon again.
  8. The preview will then update and show the embedded audio.
  9. Type your title and Publish the post.

Note – Do NOT write a message – it will remove the embedding.

STEP-BY-STEP: POSTING VIDEO

  1. Create new Tumblr post.
  2. Choose content type Text – example used here will be a Youtube video.
  3. Go to Youtube to the video you want to share. Select Share and then Embed.
  4. Copy the Embed code.
  5. Go back to Falcon.io.
  6. Click on the pencil icon to edit the HTML.
  7. Type <html> and the closing tag </html> will automatically appear.
  8. In between those lines paste the widget code you just copied.
  9. Click the pencil icon again.
  10. The preview will then update and show the embedded video.
  11. Type a title in the Subject line (NOT a message) and click Publish.
